Promatrix 7 probably is an unfamiliar protein powder brand to people residing outside of the Philippines. It's a Filipino brand consisting of several protein sources giving 5 stages of protein absorption as opposed to whey's 1-2 hour absorption rate. Absorption of this protein could take up to 7 hours as indicated on the package.
The Price
At 1,600 pesos (approximately $38) for a 5-pound bag. Promatrix 7 by far is the cheapest protein powder that I have purchased in my 4 year journey to fitness.
Taste
This protein brand comes in 2 flavors (strawberry and chocolate). The strawberry flavored Promatrix 7 tastes a bit like chocolate ice cream while the chocolate flavored variant is reminiscent of soy milk with chocolate. Both flavors taste good in their own ways. The taste is good but if you're looking for richer flavor, you can spend around $20 more to get other brands like Optimum Nutrition or Musclepharm.
Protein Score
For ~21g of protein per serving, and a serving costing less than 25 pesos (~.40 USD) Promatrix 7 I believe is one of the best protein powders around that's worth every penny. In the Philippines, it would cost around 30 pesos for 4 eggs, a tad bit higher for one scoop of Promatrix 7.
The Verdict
Let me put it this way --- if it isn't worth it, why are people lining up to buy it? Cheap protein powder doesn't have to taste bad, and it doesn't have to compromise on quality either. I would recommend this supplement for people who are on a tight budget and are looking for a cheap protein source other than eggs. Kidding aside, I'd personally give this supplement a 4.5/5 star rating. It's not perfect but hey, considering that you can purchase it at an insanely low price, it definitely is worth trying out.

And maybe some are quite satisfied because of the Quantity. But taking supplements in large quantity doesnt mean your getting the adequate and precise nutrition your body needs, sometimes we tend to overlook why some products needs a qualified certificate from different Authorities like GMP,Halal,Kosher and USFDA...

Just wanted to ask since I bought a 5-pound strawberry flavored promatrix 7 last 2 weeks and it says in the back that it contains 65 servings(35 grams per serving which is equivalent to 3 tablespoon). I was planning to take 2 servings a day making it last for a month(65 total servings / 2 servings a day = 32 days). My problem is that, it is only my 2nd week of using it and I've almost emptied my 5-pound promatrix 7. Im thinking that 1 serving is equivalent to 2 x 70cc scoops. So I'm taking 4 x 70cc scoops a day. With that being said, Im quite sure that I am taking much than what I am intending to intake. Just wanted to ask how many 70cc scoops a day should i take if Im planning to take 2 servings a day so it could last for a month. thank you so much!

ReplyDeleteMelamine, for me it’s just a rumour. Marami kasing nag swi switch sa Promatrix kasi nga “cheap” and kayang kaya sa bulsa. And yes, as a newbie mag kakaroon ka talaga ng doubts pero guys, my brother had been using this product for 3 years na, so far walang side effects or ano. Life is a competition nga naman.

DeleteHahaha, his gains doesnt necessarily reflect the effectiveness of the product, its only part of the formula..stop treating whey supplement as something like a miracle drug for muscle gains if you dont put in the effort to plan your diet and effectively workout. Whey is only there to supplement your protein intake if your diet doesnt allow you to achieve your desired daily protein intake for max gains.

DeleteEto gamit ko nung nagpa-payat ako (93kg to 74kg). Pang supplement ko sya ng protein (to replace egg) para kahit diet ako ay hindi mauubos yung lean mass ko. Naka 5 na 5-lbs din ako.
ReplyDeleteI've also used MUTANT and Gold Standard, wala naman pinagkaiba sa effect for cheaper price. Hindi naman talo ang taste. Naka 6 5-lbs pack din ako, wala naman ako naramdaman na side effect.
Sundin lang yung tamang dami ng pag inom.
Gamit ko sha noun wala namang side effect kaya lng hindi sha ideal for cutting. Tumaas yung musscle mass ko pero, tumaas din yun visceral fat ko.

ReplyDeleteMatagal matunaw sa tyan. Nakakabloat txaka malayo talaga ang gain compaired to Nitrotech performance series talking about time factor. Half the price yung pm7 pero nasa 2 to 3 sessions mo pa makikita yung supplementation effect nya. Yan ay kung di ka naman nagmamadali.

ReplyDeleteBeen using this product. I like the taste better than isolates so far kasi mas creamy and I think better yung prolonged muscle building effect kasi Protein Blend siya. I prefer multisource proteins over isolates so far dahil sa extended protein synthesis effect. 5/5 sa flavor yung chocolate. Strawberry susubukan ko palang.

Sa tingin need lng tlaga ng proper workout para lumabas muscles pero yung ngawit sa muscles ko ang tagal mawala. Any advice na pede ko I take? Mabilis din ako mangawit ano kaya maganda I take?. Ty
